PAIRO Excellence in Clinical Teaching Awards (CTA)
The objective of the PAIRO Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award is to publicly acknowledge the essential role that good clinical teachers play in the training of new physicians. Residents are asked to outline the qualities that make their nominee an excellent teacher including: positive role modeling, quality of bedside teaching, and interest in trainees' personal development and well-being.

Lois H. Ross Resident Advocate Award (RAA)
The Resident Advocate Award is named for a past Executive Director of PAIRO due to her many years and tireless efforts towards improving the lives of residents in Ontario. The award is given to one individual in the province who has consistently advocated on behalf of residents and resident issues, within their role as an administrator, a teacher or a clinician.

Residency Program Excellence Award
The Residency Program Excellence Award was created to recognize and award the hard work and efforts of programs that create a positive and rewarding environment while producing excellent clinicians.

How do I nominate someone for one of these awards?
Links to nomination forms and criteria for the awards are sent out via email and can be found here on the web site.
Letter/s of support submitted with the nomination are the basis by which the Selection Committee will choose who will receive the Awards. If there is no supporting letter, the Committee will have no basis to judge your nomination.
Deadlines are announced each year-this year they are Tuesday, February 16, 2010.
Nominations can be mailed, emailed, faxed or dropped off at the PAIRO office.
