HFOJobs (formerly the PAIRO Registry)

In 1996 PAIRO started preparing a list of job opportunities for doctors that were available outside of academic health science centres. This program, known as the PAIRO Registry was very successful and in June 2000, a web based version of the Registry was launched.

In 2006 Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care launched an ambitious health human resources strategy – HealthForceOntario – to make Ontario the employer of choice for health care providers. A key component of the HealthForceOntario initiative is HFOJobs, an expansion of the PAIRO Registry. PAIRO took on the task of developing HFOJobs for the Ministry and created a comprehensive job portal that includes two separate job registries - listing employment opportunities for both physicians and nurses.

In April 2008, PAIRO transferred the day to day operations of HFOJobs to the HealthForceOntario Marketing and Recruitment Agency – a stand alone agency recently created by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

HFOJobs portal users can:

  • Search and apply for current practice opportunities
  • Research information on communities across Ontario
  • Build a curriculum vitae
  • Set job alerts for future opportunities
  • Regularly view new employment postings

The HFOJobs Support Office provides the following resources to all HFOJobs users:
