PAIRO-CAHO Collective Agreement Information
One of PAIRO's primary functions is to negotiate the Collective Agreement covering terms and conditions of employment with the Council of Academic Hospitals (CAHO). Through the determined and collective action of PAIRO and its members, PAIRO has obtained substantial improvements in the salary and working conditions of all residents. PAIRO continually strives to ensure that its members have optimal training, optimal working conditions and optimal transitions, to ensure that the patients they treat receive the best possible medical care.
Enforcing the PAIRO-CAHO Collective Agreement
PAIRO strives to promote optimal working and training environments for all residents, and therefore PAIRO monitors the training environment of residents and aids in resolving contractual issues. PAIRO attempts to resolve issues residents face through providing personal advice and guidance to residents in order to help them to address issues locally when possible, and if necessary, by enforcing the PAIRo-cAHO Agreement via the grievance process. The PAIRO Genral Council, Board of Directors, and PAIRO office staff are always ready and willing to help answer contractual queries and assist locally to resolve contractual disputes. Rest assured that all calls received into the PAIRO office remain strictly confidential.
